Veterinary Behavior Medication Management (Monthly Recurring)

This service can only be provided if there is a local attending veterinarian who approves of the consulting relationship, and retains the primary veterinary client patient relationship.  That attending DVM determines where the client can obtain the medications and then sub-contracts the complexity of adjusting the medication to a consultant as part of this service.  The overall goal is either to taper the medication when no longer needed or determine the pet needs this medication long-term to be able to enjoy life.

The consultant must have a doctorate in veterinary medicine to identify underlying medical issues or mild adverse reactions, which are very common with these medications.  Psychoactive medication management for pets is not included in most veterinary school curricula.  Therefore, the consultant has spent years of study and experience learning the various medications which can be combined safely, and which might trigger drug interactions.

Medication plans are adjusted based on Pet Parent Diary Entries and consultation by Dr. Tripp with the pet's attending veterinarian as needed.

Supervision is done via video or phone appointment.  Some cases require medical tests or prescriptions coordinated with the local DVM of your choice or one recommended by Dr. Tripp.

This consulting does not include the cost of the medications or local veterinary services.
